We are a family of four: Tammy, Simon, Aria aged 8 and Malakai aged 6. We live in the city of Bristol in the south-west of England. We enjoy being outdoors, riding our bikes, camping and making things. We think family time is very important and always eat meals together, enjoy being together, playing games, reading and so on. Bristol is a cool, fun and interesting city to live in with lots of young people from all over the world living here. It’s been named as the best place to live in the UK! There are good public transport and cycling links from our house to the rest of the city. It’s easy to get from Bristol to London and other major cities as well as tourist sea-side towns in the southwest of England and Wales. There are lots of options for studying English in the city and we could help you find a course that fits in around the children’s school times.
We feel having an au pair will give our children the valuable opportunity and experience of living with and learning about someone from a different culture while having extra childcare they need in the family home. We hope the au pair that lives with us will feel like part of the family. We need help with dropping off/picking up from school, caring for the children when both parents are working and helping to prepare evening meals. We would like the au pair to do light housework - for example cleaning up after meals, helping the children to keep their room clean and tidy, clean and put away their clothes and so on. We are looking for an au pair to start in early September and be able to work for about one year for about 25 hours per week. You will have your own private room with wi-fi internet and a place to keep your things. We will provide all your food and you will eat meals with the family when possible but you will need to prepare your food yourself when Tammy and Simon are working. We will provide a bicycle. We will provide a simple mobile phone with up to £10 of credit per month so that we can keep in touch with you. We will pay you £90 per week while you are with us. We would like to find an au pair to start soon, so you'll need to be a European citizen so that we don't have to sponsor visas etc. which would take a lot of time.
