My name is Lenka and I am 35 years old and I originate from the Czech Republic. I work as a research scientist in Cambridge, developing new treatments for cancer. My husband Mark is British and works as a Science Director in the same company. We are looking for someone to provide childcare for our baby son Sebastian (born April 2017) as both of us work full-time. We speak English at home although I also speak Czech to Sebastian as well. Ideally, we would like an Au Pair who could also speak Czech. However, the main thing is that the Au Pair should provide loving care for our son and so we would be happy to consider any nationality with the right skills and experience. We live in a large family house with a nice garden in a pretty English village in Cambridgeshire, surrounded by countryside, close to a river and within easy reach of a lovely historical town called St Ives, from which a guided bus journey of 20 minutes will take you into Cambridge.
Your primary duties will be looking after Sebastian while we are at work during the weekdays (approx. from 7.30am to 6pm) and max 2 evenings per week of babysitting. The workdays would include stimulating playtime for Sebastian, preparing simple food, taking him for walks or driving him to activity classes. We would also expect the house to be kept tidy, such as clearing away toys and the kitchen, but we do have a cleaning lady to do the regular household cleaning every week. We would like you, though, to help with some ironing and occasional grocery shopping.
