Note: we are catholic (but it is not listed in the options...) We are a french family (fluent in english and Portuguese) who have lived abroad for more than 15 years, travelling internationally quite extensively for humanitarian work in the developing countries. Since August 2016, we have settled in the south of Portugal with our 2 children (9 and 12 years old). I (the mother) am a medical doctor (specialised in public health) and my husband is a NGO program manager. We are continuing to work for humanitarian organisations as international consultants. So we would need an AuPair to help us look after the children and our house as me or my husband is on mission. We live in the rural area 3 km north of louse, in a vegetable bio farm (not for commercial purposes) and 15 km away from the beach. so a driver's license is requested.
The tasks are quite simple as well: 1) share with/help the parent with the everyday tasks drop-off and pick-up from/to the bus stop, urgent groceries (if needed), help with gardening, help with homework (in english and in french), make sure the girls feed the animals and change the litter (and if not done, to help them to it). 2) Weekends are free and week evenings as well (mon – Fri). And when if exceptionally me and my husband are abroad at the same time, then we expect the aupair to be with the kids 24h/24h and look after the house and the animals (and in case of an emergency, to be able to call 911...). Of course extra hours will be paid for. We have a housekeeper that comes 2 times a week and a handyman (a very nice friend of the family) that comes 1 a week. The candidate must like living in the rural area and know how to cook.
