Hello! We are a family of 4, Alex, Maria, Lucia and Alejandra (Alex). We also have a dog who is quite big but a total teddy bear, he's a German Shepherd and he's very cute. We are looking for our new au pair, we have had several before and our latest au pair Lexi will be with us until 30th December, so we are looking for someone from beginning of January onwards. We would like someone to stay until at least the end of summer, so that the girls really get to know you and build a relationship with you. They both speak and understand English well, but we want to break some of the bad habits they have picked up- for example, saying 'me want' instead of 'I want'. We want an au pair who isn't afraid to become part of the family and we want her to have fun- we respect your independence also, and encourage nights out in Madrid! We love to have fun and the girls love playing outside, with the dog, colouring, watching tv, songs, playing in the garage/gym. They are very inventive and someone with a good imagination would be great!
As our au pair you will need to help get the girls ready for school in the morning- wake them up at 8, help the youngest (Alex) get dressed, sort out breakfast, brush teeth/hair and then Maria takes them to school, so you stay home and clear up breakfast/tidy the girls bedroom and do a quick sweep of the floor downstairs if necessary. It is very light cleaning as we have a cleaner who comes once a week, we just ask that you keep your bedroom and the bathroom clean and tidy, along with the girls' bedroom. You are free all day until 6pm, the girls arrive home at 4 but you don't have to play with them until 6 if you don't want to- they usually snack when they get in and then do homework and chat about their day. There is a very good language school in Moncloa that several of our au pairs have been to, and Lexi is more than happy to chat with you about any questions you have. At 6, you just need to play with the girls, speak in English with them and teach them new words/sentences through games. They usually eat dinner- which our au pair doesn't usually cook, but if you want to feel free!- around 830 and then straight to bed around 9/9:15, read a story or sing a song and then sleep!
