We are a friendly, active, social family of four plus one small dog. We live in Red Hill, a beautiful small town in wine-making region 75 minutes out of Melbourne. We have several gorgeous beaches nearby and go to the beach in all weather as we love it! We enjoy yoga, cooking, music, being outdoors and especially bushwalking, camping, gardening and sailing which is why we love where we live. Although we live in a small town we go to the city frequently as we enjoy going to restaurants and seeing our friends and family in Melbourne. Alex commutes to Melbourne daily for work (gelato business) and is happy to drive you there and pick you up if the times work out (usually 1pm-11pm). Bonnie works as a psychologist 2 days per week. We have not had an au pair before but we have had several international students live with us (happily!) over the years and we have travelled ourselves a lot. You will have your own room in a 4 bedroom house on a big property, free unlimited wifi, netflix and of course all meals and board.
We are looking for a wonderful au pair to really join our family and participate in all our activities. You will be a friendly, warm, trustworthy motivated, healthy and fun person who loves life and children. You will be happy to take the children on adventures (walks, beach, swimming etc), run activities at home (painting, cooking, craft, songs, stories etc), and bathe, feed and put the children to bed on occasion. You will help with housework and children's meals and pick up/drop off at kindergarten (on occasion) plus babysitting one night per week. You will need a drivers licence, travel/medical insurance and are preferably vegetarian like us! (Although we do eat seafood). To be happy as an au pair you really need to be patient, organised and love being with children. We do not allow our children to watch TV or iPads but subscribe to more of a natural parenting (Steiner) philosophy although of course when the children are in bed you can watch what you like! We strive to give our children various experiences but also to have a regular rythym during the day and over the week. We pay A$200 a week for 35 hours assistance/plus room, internet and all meals. 2 days off per week. Alternatively we would be open to a demi pair if you want to study. We are happy to help you with your English. This is a great opportunity for the right person :)
