Dear Au pair Thank you for reading our profile. We are looking for an Au Pair who would like to be part of our family and who would help us to take care of our three boys. We will make the effort to help our Au pair to feel welcome in our home, to form a good relationship with the kids and import a bit of her own culture to our home, too. I am a primary school teacher and my husband is working in two weeks shifts in Norway. Our boys are now 8, 6 and 3 years old. Our eldest son will be in school while our two youngsters have a part time place in a daycare nearby. We live in a house in Kirkkonummi, a small town on the suburban area of Helsinki. The capital city is reached by a train within 30 minutes. Train and Bus schedules are convenient and Kirkkonummi center is at walking distance. Though not too big city itself, Kirkkonummi has a swimming hall, soccer fields and lot of indoor and outdoor sporting possibilities. (Crosscountry skiing possibilities are well maintained if the winter is good.) Our family makes regular visits to Turku, which is located in the southwest of Finland. Helsinki/Espoo are close to Kirkkonummi and also university cities if you are considering studying in Finland. We are spending a lot of time together as a family and are also lucky to get visitors in our house quite often. We are not professional players but we do have a piano and the boys are playing some very basic melodies with it. My husband plays a classical guitar. We appreciate music in our home. Our other family hobby is swimming but that is more for fun than serious sport.
Main duties will be helping to take care of our children. The morning program will consist of preparing breakfast and to get the children ready for their daycare and school as well as transporting them with the car. In the afternoons we will need help in picking the boys up from the daycare and make a light snack for them. During the evenings help is also needed in some evening duties such as cleaning the table after the evening meal. Minor part of work will be light housekeeping duties. It is important to note that more help is needed when my husband is working abroad. The au pair will have more own free time when my husband is at home. Au pair is expected to work an average of 20 hours in a week. There will be enough time for studies and Au pair’s hobbies, which we consider important for the enjoyable stay. We’ll provide the Au pair with an own room. If wanted, we can also support the au pair with Finnish language course. The boys can speak Finnish and Swedish. We can speak Finnish, English and Swedish.
