We are a young family with two boys. We are new to having an au pair and are looking for a caring and responsible woman to come and live in our busy but friendly house. We live in a semi-rural location near the South Downs, just outside the historic town of Lewes, and conveniently only 8 miles from Brighton and an hour’s train ride to London. Our boys are Douglas who is 4 and Tom who is nearly 2. They are both a lot of fun and energetic but also very loving, well behaved and play brilliantly together. I work in Brighton 4 days a week and my husband works between home, Brighton and London. We both have to work occasional late nights.
We are looking for someone who can help us primarily with Douglas’s childcare, doing the school morning drop-offs, after school pick-ups and looking after him for 2-3 hours until we get home from work. Douglas is showing an early love of languages (particularly Spanish and French) so we’d also like you to teach him yours through conversation and songs. We would also like you to look after the children’s meals, do around 3 hours of housework a week as well as some light chores like laundry. You will work 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday) plus one additional weekend night (Friday, Saturday or Sunday) for babysitting – so approximately 30 hours per week. You will have a comfortable double bedroom with TV and DVD, wi-fi and your own car. A driving licence is essential. When we’re not there you will have use of the whole house including areas for study if needed. We would like you to start no later than 1st September, earlier if possible.
