We are looking forward to welcoming you into our family and we hope you will be very happy in your stay with us. We're a family of 4 with 2 boys. We are: Mum,Mireia - working full time Dad,Miguel - working part time Marti - 3 years old, at school until 4:30 pm Adria - 7 months old, at home. Welcome to the Leston - Sendra Family! We are a young couple who live in Catalonia. Miguel works as a teacher of ESL English at secondary school and Mireia as a teacher for primary school children. We are a very normal family, who appreciate the simple things in life, like sitting down to eat together, going for walks, and spending quality time together. We enjoy the outdoors and being with our friends and family. We want our children to grow in a bilingual environment, we therefore speak English to them, especially Miguel as he grew up in London. We live in Balaguer, a small city located between the Pyrenees mountains and the city of Barcelona. We're over an hour and a half's drive away from each of the locations mentioned. Balaguer has a population of about 18,000 and there are plenty of sports activities to do like swimming, mountain biking, horse riding, climbing and hiking. There are also cultural and more relaxed leisure activities on offer.
Our au pair will be expected to look after the baby while we are working and to look after the older boy some days after school. Responsibilities include daily care of the children in the afternoons, preparing snacks, taking and collecting the older boy from school and playing with both children at home or taking them to the playground. As the baby's awareness of his surroundings increases he will experience awakenings, we would be grateful if you could aid him in this process.
