We are a fun, busy, active family with three children. Our oldest son has special needs and cannot talk, but is happy and relatively easy to care for. He uses a walker to get around. We live in a beautiful town by a lake, Kirkland. It has parks, shops, and we are close to seattle. We are looking for someone to help in the evenings and two weekends a month with the kids. I don't work, but my husband has a busy job. As the kids get older, they are involved in sports and other activities that require me to have someone in the house at night. We also have a vacation property on the Puget Sound we like to go to. We would like someone to accompany us there. We need someone happy, energetic, active, enthusiastic, with a positive outlook on life. We also travel on vacations, for example the Caribbean, and we need the au pair to go with us.
The au-pair would be responsible to help with all the kids, but not very many duties during the day, other than perhaps some very light housekeeping; however I have a housecleaner already. So I am not looking for housekeeping beyond some laundry for the children and helping the kids to tidy their rooms. We mainly need someone after school starting at 2pm and there through the evening, so that if 1 child has an activity, the au pair is home with the other children. We also need 2 weekends a month of help. My son Thomas needs help to get dressed, help with his meals (he can eat some things by himself, some things he needs help) and diaper changes. Thomas is 12. Thomas is very sweet and loves people and his friends. This job requires someone with a special heart who enjoys working with children that are different. Thomas has a rare disorder called Mowat-Wilson syndrome.
