We are a family of 5. I am originally from Hamburg, Germany and moved to Australia when I was 21 back in 2000. I did my teaching degree in Melbourne, met my Australian husband (Paul) and we got married in 2003. We have 3 very lively but beautiful kids. Lucia (7) is our oldest. she goes to school (Grade 1) at the local catholic primary school from about 8:45am-3:15pm. She loves playing with her friends, doing art & craft type of stuff, cooking etc. Alexis (nearly 4) is our crazy one. She loves to have everyone's full attention which can sometimes be hard when you've got 2 other kids. She is the joker of the family and has lots and lots of energy. She currently goes to childcare 3 days a week (8:30am - 4:30pm ) but from Feb 2014 she will probably go to Kindergarten a few days and childcare on the other days. She is desperate to start school but has to wait till 2015 so we re trying our best to keep her busy. The baby of the family is Jesse (2). He is super cute (we think anyway ) and usually pretty easy going. He loves to play outside with our dog Maya (a small king Charles cavalier) , paint, play with play dough and he also goes to childcare on the same days as Alexis. As I mentioned I am a primary school teacher and I ve just started working again after having time off with the kids. I am a relief teacher at Lucia's school 3 days a week. I basically get called if other teachers are sick or away for other reasons so some weeks I don't work at all and at times I work 5 days.
We are looking for a German Au Pair girl who would like to spend a few months with us in our small country town in Vic (right on the border of Nsw) and hopefully make our crazy life with 3 kids a little bit easier. The Au pair needs to be aware that Yarrawonga,Vic is a small holiday town of about 6000 people. People from Melbourne and Nsw love coming here for summer holidays because the weather is amazing from Sept-April, we have a huge lake great for water skiing, fishing, swimming and the Murray river goes right through the town. During summer there is heaps to do outdoors but during winter it gets a bit quiet. During summer several pubs and clubs turn into nightclubs or have bands playing at night. There are lots of cafes, restaurants etc. It might be a little harder to meet people here than in a big town. Our au pair needs to be a friendly, patient, energetic person who loves to play with kids and help around the house a little. We would hope that she can look after the two little ones for a few hours on week days, maybe do school pick up or child care pick up sometimes, help keep the house tidy or load the dish washer, take the kids and the dog for a walk. If I get called in to work on days when the kids are not at childcare we might need the au pair to look after the little ones from 8:30am-3:30pm but this doesn't happen very often. We'd also like her to babysit all 3 kids if we go out at night maybe twice a month.
