Mwana wa ng'ona sakulila dziwe limodzi. We are open-minded and adventurous–we love travel, meeting new people, and learning new things! We are looking for a like-minded au pair to join our family and share in our adventures with us as we become new parents. We are expecting a baby boy in June and looking for an au pair to arrive in August, so you’d have a month of settling in and caring for baby with us before we go back to work in September. We enjoy hiking, cooking, gardening, reading, playing music, and talking about science–we both have PhDs in psychology so we’ll happily talk about science all day long ???? and we really enjoy getting to know other people and learning about the things they like. We want to hear about you and your goals as an au pair and more broadly, and we’d love to help you on your path however we can.
You would help us by caring for our new baby during the workday, so usually from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Alex is a professor at a nearby university, and George works from home so will be on hand to help out at times during the week. We would also love to have your help preparing meals and looking after our three very friendly dogs. We want to raise our child bilingually and Alex anaphunzila Chichewa ku sukulu, ndipo anachita kafukufuku on language and culture in different countries, but Malawi holds a special place in her heart. We’ve both traveled there and love the warm heart of Africa, so we are wanting to learn better Chichewa, make it a second language in our household, and raise our new son speaking it, so you will be an essential part of that plan and we hope that’s something you’re excited about too!
