We are an international family of three currently living mostly in Bangalore, a large city in South India and the country's IT hub. My husband Rajiv is originally from here, but has lived most of his adult life in New York. I'm half German, half Italian - originally from Munich. I've lived in Germany, Italy, France, China, Singapore and the US before moving to India. Our daughter Sanvi was born in Bangalore in May 2020. We run our own investment company and as such have a flexible work schedule. We work from home a fair bit and also tend to spend a couple of months a year somewhere in Europe or the US (usually 4-6 weeks at a time). We would like the Au Pair to accompany us on any such longer travels, if possible. We are looking for an easy-going, open-minded, and responsible "big sister" for our four-year old girl, someone who loves hanging out with kids and who would enjoy being part of our international family during her stay. Ideally, the Au Pair would like doing some of the things that our daughter enjoys, such as running, playing ball, swimming, dancing, music, and typical kids games. We would prefer it if the Au Pair could speak in German with Sanvi to help her improve her German skills (her main language is English, but she speaks broken German as well). Alternatively, if you are an Italian speaker, we'd love for you to speak with Sanvi in Italian (Sanvi is a German-Italian-American national, as her mom is German-Italian and her father American). We live in a spacious duplex apartment in a gated community in the North of Bangalore (close to the Iskon Temple, one of the top sights for any visitor to the city). As we are on the 28th-29th floors, we have great views of our surroundings. While it's very serene and quiet where we live, when you step out of our apartment complex, you step right into the hustle and bustle of Bangalore. There's a large modern shopping mall close-by (5 minutes by walk), and well as various small shops and food places. Our apartment complex has a nice gym, tennis and badminton courts, a yoga room, and both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool. There are also facilities for table tennis, pool, and bowling. We have a cleaning lady who comes Monday through Saturdays for a couple of hours. As there's a lot of crazy traffic in the city, we mostly get around town with our driver. Of course, as our Au Pair, you could use all of our apartment complex's facilities and also use our driver. You'd have your own room with separate bathroom/shower. We'd mainly need the au pair to look after our daughter in the afternoon and part of the evening. So you'd be free to do whatever you like during the rest of the day. Ideally, we'd like you to be somewhat flexible, as we don't have a rigid routine.
