We are the Dawson family! Mum Michelle, Dad Nick, Hugo 6, Solomon 4 and Rafferty 1. We live in Kingston Upon Thames in the south west of London, 8 miles from central London. The town centre is a 10 minute walk away. Kingston is a busy town with lots of activities including a cinema/entertainment centre, community centres with pool etc. There is a University in Kingston. Take a look at the tourist information site for Kingston Upon Thames: http://www.kingston.gov.uk/browse/leisure/tourism.htm I am a full time stay at home mum and my husband works at home for a telecoms company. We are looking for an au pair to start with us in September 2018. As Hugo and Solomon are both in school, the focus for our au pair will be to help look after Rafferty who will be 2 years old in August. He is a lovely boy who enjoys doing lots of activities and he has a very busy social life! He attends lots of local play groups and activities which he really enjoys. He loves singing nursery rhymes, playing with his toys and running around in the local parks!
Your role will be to care for and look after Rafferty between the hours of 08:30-12:00 & 15:00-17:00 Monday to Friday. He sleeps between 12:00-15:00 every day. You will play with Rafferty and engage with him in his learning. We want someone who is caring, creative, patient, understands age appropriate activities and has confidence in engaging with them in play, songs, and general toddler-oriented activities. He is a very sociable boy who will enjoy lots of stimulation. You will also need to be able to prepare meals for the him, go to play groups and classes, as well as bath him and put him down for naps. In addition, you will need to do some light housework, such as helping to tidy up and fold laundry. You will not be expected to do heavy cleaning or bathrooms as we have cleaners who do this separately. This will total 30 hours per week. Our family will be expanding in November this year as we are expecting twin girls. We are employing a full time maternity nurse to help me take care of the new arrivals. With Hugo and Solomon at school and the nurse to help with the twins, your focus will be on our lovely Rafferty. We want a person who is mature, responsible and with a good grasp of English. We encourage you to get out and see friends and make the most of London when you are off duty. You are welcome to speak to our current au pair, Konnie from Germany, who leaves us after 9 months in September to go and study at university. You can also speak to our au pair from before Konnie, named Sjoeriene from the Netherlands, who stayed with us for 2 years and is now a good friend of ours and God Parent to our son Rafferty. We will provide your own bedroom (picture to follow) and sole use of a bathroom. We would encourage you to make friends locally and enjoy living in Kingston. I enjoy doing yoga and my husband enjoys cycling. We would encourage you to engage in activities that interest you and enjoy all that London has to offer! We will pay you £150 per week Other Requirements: - Good grasp of spoken English - Be able to start September 2018 - Plan to stay at least 6 months - MUST have experience with looking after babies/toddlers - Have a current VISA to live and work in the U.K. - Provide 3 or more contactable references - Provide criminal record check, or be prepared to obtain it - No Smokers
