We are currently seeking a live-in personal carer (female) to assist our daughter with everyday life skills. We require a dedicated, caring, passionate person with a bubbly, outgoing personality to assist her with day to day life. Our daughter is 33 years of age and has an intellectual disability and epilepsy. At times she can display challenging behaviour but also has a very outgoing personality. She is physically very capable, loves animals, shopping, movies, walks and swimming. Accommodation provided is a brand new, self-contained (kitchen, lounge/dining room, laundry and WIFI provided) one bedroom, fully furnished apartment / granny flat adjacent to our house situated in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane (near Mount Ommaney Shopping Centre).
Your daily responsibilities would include: Assisting her to shower and with personal care and grooming, Shopping and meal preparations, Swimming and exercise, General house duties, Working to help improve general behaviour particularly with her patience, Driving her to medical appointments and community access, Assist in caring for and feeding family pets (cats and dogs – must have a passion for animals).
