Hi My name is Nina Crew and we are looking for a fun and loving au pair to come and stay with us. Our family consists of Michael (the dad) and our two children Sophie, aged 9 and Josh aged 5 and myself. We live in a leafy suburb called Chapel Hill which is about 9kms from the Brisbane CBD. We have a very busy life which includes lots of extracurricular activities and we love to get out and about on the weekends. Sophie is our eldest and is in grade 4 this year at Chapel Hill State School. She is a happy little girl who is very adventurous and loves to get out doors and be active. She is a very independent girl who loves to do things just like the adults do. Sophie is a very active little girl who has after school activities such as soccer practice, ballet, gymnastics and swimming. On weekends, Sophie plays soccer in the Brisbane soccer competition. Our youngest is Josh who is a cheeky 5-year- old. He is a very funny little kid and a very caring boy. Josh has started school this year and is in Prep at Chapel Hill State School with Sophie. He is a very easy natured boy and like his sister loves to be outdoors. He is a keen swimmer and loves to play soccer. I am 30 years old and a Construction and Infrastructure lawyer for a law firm in Brisbane. My favourite thing to do to relax is to bake cakes and cupcakes! I love to cook delicious meals on the weekend – so most weekends we are always trying new recipes and cuisines. Michael is 40 years old and works in Finance. His job is more flexible as he owns his own business, but with that also comes long hours as well. Michael loves to go to the beach during summer and most weekends we find ourselves down the Gold Coast overnight. Michael is also a keen runner. We have a guinea pig named Bacon who is a cute furry pet and loves eating fresh grass and lettuce. He goes crazy when we let them out on the grass every day! We live in Chapel Hill, which is the inner west suburb of Brisbane. Our house is a 5 bedroom house which is built into the side of a hill. We can offer you with your own personal space, you will have your own bedroom on your own floor, which has its own bathroom and deck. Our house has beautiful views of Mt Cootha and we are surrounded by trees. We also have a pool that is maintained regularly and you are free to use this whenever you like. The kids love to hop in on a hot day after school! We have 2 living areas, one mainly used by the kids and the other is where the adults sit. The TV in the rumpus room has Foxtel with all the movie, sports and entertainment channels which we are happy for you to use during the day. We also have WIFI in the home for you to access as well. There are 2 bus routes that go through the area which will take you into the city. The bus stop is about a 5 minute walk from the house. You will have access to a car while you stay with us on the days that you have the kids. We would be happy to allow use of the car over the weekends if needed as well.
A typical day in the Crew household is quite crazy in the morning getting everyone ready for school. I am usually out the door by 7am. In the mornings we need some help getting Sophie and Josh to school in the mornings and after school taking the kids to their afterschool activities. A typical day for you will start from 7.30am. During the week, Sophie and Josh have their afterschool activities such as soccer, ballet, gymnastics and swimming. When they are not at their after school activities, they will be at home and we would like your help to help them with their homework, bathing the children, light chores like folding the kids clothes and helping the kids tidy up the kids lounge area, and preparing dinner. While the kids are at school you would have the day free to explore Brisbane and catch up with friends that you make. You will have the weekends to yourself to do whatever you like. Sometimes we may take a long weekend and go to the beach, we would be more than happy for you to come along with us as well. Our last 2 au pairs have made lots of friends during their stay with us. We live in a community that has lots of au pairs around so there are always lots of au pairs looking to make new friends. I think you would be able to find new friends very easily. We are very excited to invite you into our home. I think Sophie and Josh will absolutely love having a new friend around and I am sure you will be happy in our home.
