Hi there, About us: We are a family of three. Myself and my husband are both in our early 30s and our son is 15 months old. I am originally from London and my husband is from Israel. My husband and I both work full time. My husband works for himself as a electrician and I work in a office in Central London for a software company. In our spare time we like to travel, go to see live music, socialise with friends, eat good food and hang out with a good movie. Oh and if we have time some yoga or gym :) We are very easy going, fun and flexible people and we hope to find an au pair who will be the same. We hope to find an Au Pair who takes great care of our son and respects our home as if it was their own. We would like to build a relationship with someone who we can have an open and honest relationship with and therefore accommodate their needs and requests to ensure that everyone is happy.
We live in a suburb just outside London called Borehamwood. Its a family friendly area. We have the Thameslink train which is a 10 minute walk from our house. The train can be in Kings Cross in 20 minutes so its really easy to get to the Centre of london. Borehamwood has a nice high street with lots of shops and some restaurants. Its not like central London as its more family focused but you definitely have everything you need. We also have a really cheap 24h Gym located 5 minutes walk from our house. As well as a cinema and coming soon a comedy club. Our au pair would have her own room with a double bed, a tv and access to netflix and amazon prime tv. You would share a bathroom with our son only as the house has 2 bathrooms. Below is what the week looks like with our current au pair but can change depending on if the new au pair has other commitments. We are very flexible. Monday - Friday 5 days a week you'll need to get our son dressed and feed him breakfast and drive him to childcare in the morning. The drive is a 5 minutes. 2 days a week you'll need to collect him from childcare at lunch time and put him to sleep for a few hours. When he wakes you'll need to play with him until we arrive home at 5pm. 1 day a week you'll need to collect him from childcare at the end of the day and bring him home. This totals to about 20h per week but it might be more if our son is sick and needs to stay at home. We will need someone to be flexible with this One night a week to do babysitting. This may be on the weekend or during the week. Some weeks we dont need babysitting but some weeks we may need more. It just depends. Excluding any babysitting the aupair does not work on weekends. House work includes the following and can be done in your own time. - Keeping the house tidy - hoovering the floor / wiping the kitchen surfaces - unloading the dishwasher - prepare our sons bag for childcare for the week - emptying the trash - Making our son dinner 3 times a week - all laundry - we would really benefit from someone doing this as it really piles up. We don't need ironing just washing drying and folding. we have a dryer. We estimate about 1 load per day.
