We have two children: a little boy (B) who was 3 in July and a little girl (S) who will 5 in February. B loves cars, trucks, trains and anything else with wheels! S loves drawing, dressing up, horses and helping mummy. They both love helping daddy in the garden. S is quite shy, but a very good listener, whereas B's more rambunctious, but his big sister keeps him in line! I'm American and my husband's English and we're both accountants. We love being outside, travelling, good food and meeting up with friends (and good TV box sets!) In general, we're pretty tidy and well organised. We are looking for someone independent and energetic who loves children and preferably has had prior experience with kids. Someone who can cook would be fantastic! There are many au pairs in our area (particularly Spanish). We are an easy-going and understanding family. We live in a terraced house in Wimbledon Park in southwest London. You can get into central London in about 30 minutes on the tube. Wimbledon Town and Wimbledon Village are both nearby, as are many parks and green spaces (we live right behind Wimbledon Park). I work 4 days a week with one day from home (Wednesdays) and one day off (Fridays). The kids get up at about 7:20 on school days and go to school from 9 to 3:15. They love going to the playground after they get out of school. When they're at home, they spend most of the time playing with their toys, doing puzzles, S loves drawing, B loves playing with his train track or helping (as best they can!) with whatever we're doing. As our au pair you'd be working in the mornings Monday through Friday and the after-school afternoons Monday through Thursday (with Fridays off after 9 am). The au pair's tasks will include: getting the kids dressed and ready in the mornings, walking them to school and picking them up, feeding them breakfast and dinner during the school week, helping a bit with homework, helping them get ready for bed on some days, tidying their toys, helping with kids' laundry and dishes, playing and entertaining the kids, and occasional evening babysitting. We will also need some extra help in the afternoons during school holidays. The au pair's bedroom is on the top floor, which is also where the kids' bedroom and bathroom is, so you would share a bathroom with the kids, but not with us.
