Dear Au Pair We are looking for a mothers helper to help us look after our three children while we are at work. We are looking for someone fun and energetic who can care for our lively children. Someone with a good sence of humour and a good attitude. The right candidate will be included in our family activities if they wish so as we would like them to be a part of the family We live in a small rural village location. Although there is no shop in the village we are only a short drive away from the nearby town or next village along. There is a local pub which serves food and has regular occasions with local bands playing. There is a good community spirit here and although there are no recreational facilities we do have a lovely village green where the children can play. At the village hall there is weekly yoga classes and also a class to learn the ukulele. This seems to be a popular class in the village. There are lots of beautiful walks around the area which are just at the doorstep. The local town of Daventry is an historic market town. It has a few shops and main supermarkets. A larger town called Northampton is a 25 minute drive away and has many more shops to choose from.
A usuall day would consist of getting the children ready for school and making breakfast for them. School runs before and after school are only a short walk down the path to where a bus will take them to school. During the day you will have sole charge of the youngest child and provide stimulating activities to keep him occupied. I would like you to make lunch for the youngest child with snacks and drinks throughout the day. During the school holidays I would like you to Look after all 3 children and provide activities to keep them occupied. It is crucial that the candidate be flexible as being a student midwife my timetable varies through out the year. Whilst in university i will do the hours 9-4 on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. So Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday will be days off. When i am on shift at the hospital i will work 3 long days or nights which could be any days. The other days will all be given as days off. There may be an occasional weekend where the ideal candidate may need to work but this could be arranged before hand. There will always be 2 days off per week as a minimum. As I am a student I am given some holidays off from university. These are 3 weeks in the summer and 2 weeks at christmas. During this time I will be around the house or we may go on holiday. You will be able to join us if you wish to. As a family we enjoy the outdoors and regullaly go on walks in the countryside. We like visiting new places and enjoy camping holidays. Our children enjoy learning about nature and love to learn about life. We enjoy taking our dog out for walks and as a family we may play football, or ball games whilst we are out. We have mountain bikes which you may use and a child seat for our youngest. We like spending time in the village community and sometimes visit the village pub. We are friendly and accomodating and hope that you can be a real part of the family.
