We are a friendly family of 4 looking for an au pair from the EU to start with us by 20 August. Mum (Anne), Dad (Alastair) and our two gorgeous boys Caspar and Sebastian. Caspar is 9 years old and Sebastian is 6. My husband works as an accountant in London/Kent/abroad and I will be returning to work (full time, but term-time only as I will be working in a school) in September 2017. It is my return to work that has prompted us to look for an au pair. We are looking for an au pair to start as soon as possible. We look forward to welcoming you into our busy, sociable family. We will do our best to help you explore and make the most of your time here. Please get in touch if you enjoy being with children and helping them learn and have fun. We are looking for a fun, kind, caring, organised, flexible and reliable au pair to join our family. Our boys both go to the same local primary school which is a 15 minute walk away. The boys are active and enjoy playing together in the garden, playing with Lego, reading and listening to music. They also enjoy going to the playground and inviting friends round. We limit their time on computer games to max 30 minutes per day (if at all). We live in a comfortable house with a big garden in a quiet road. You will have your own newly decorated (big) bedroom with TV, armchair, desk and WIFI. You will share a bathroom with the boys. We live in a small town called Haywards Heath (30,000 inhabitants), with shops and cafes a walk away. It is also only a short walk to the train station, from where you can get to Brighton (great city on the beach
Working hours will be Monday to Friday from approximately 7 am to 9 am and then from 3 - 6 pm. There will also be 1-3 evenings of babysitting per month (one of which may be Friday or occasionally Saturday) up to a maximum of 30-35 hours per week. You will need to get up with the children in the morning from about 7 am onwards (when we leave for work), have breakfast with them, tidy up after breakfast, help them get ready for school and then walk them there. The boys need to be at school for 8.40 am. While the children are at school you will have plenty of free time and you will be able to attend a language school if you want (most local au pairs attend one in Brighton). In the afternoon from 3 pm onwards you will need to pick the children up from school, take them to activities when necessary, and prepare a light evening meal for them. You will also need to supervise the boys’ homework. My husband and I will get home from work at appr. 6 pm depending on traffic and work commitments, There will also be some light housework, such as hanging out the washing which you will be able to fit in during the mornings and afternoons. We have a cleaner. In the rare event that the children are ill and unable to go to school (in the past 12 months the boys have had two sick days) we would ask that you look after them for the day. I will not be working during most school holidays. We expect that you do not smoke, do not drink excessively, keep your things tidy and do not bring anyone back to our house without discussing it with us first. In return we will respect you, warmly welcome you into our home and family and provide you with a great opportunity to experience life in the UK.
