Hello! We're an international family. I was born in the Ivory Coast, and I've lived in the UK since I was 12 years old. I'm a doctor - a consultant Paediatrician in Hepatology. My wife is from Montenegro and she is a diplomat working for the Foreign Ministry of Montenegro. We met in London back in 2007 where we both lived and worked and for the past 3 years have lived separately due to our work. We're now settling in Leeds in the North of England (Yorkshire), a very beautiful region of the UK and living in Roundhay - one of the best areas in Leeds. We need a short term au-pair because my wife can not join us in Leeds until October/November and I want the kids to start the school year in September. We have 2 kids - our Daughter Mara-Violet is 7, and our son Allan-Danilo is 4. We speak both English and Montenegrin (Serbian/Croatian) in our family - Mara is bilingual but Allan needs work on his English!
I would expect an au-pair to get the children ready for school in the mornings, pick them up and take them to after school activities. Take care of after school snacks etc. I'm on call once every 4 weeks - providing 24/7 cover for the hospital. During that week my return time will be unpredictable so I might need the au-pair to prepare dinner during the week. During those weekends - I would also ask the au-pair to be available in case I need to head into hospital in the afternoon. Otherwise - the au-pair will have the WEEKEND OFF.
