Dear future aupair, we are a family living on the Welsh / English border in a county called Shropshire. We are looking for our 6th Aupair to help us out with our lives.We are a family with two boys William (10) and Huw (8) and live in a Village. We are about 10 minute drive to the nearest local town (Oswestry, Shropshire – on the Welsh Border) and 20 minutes from Shrewsbury, a larger town or Chester City (45 mins). Boys being boys, they need to be active and outside especially when the weather is good. Huw really enjoys playing football and is the Goalie for his local Under 8 team. William is learning the Drums and plays Golf. At school William does Cross country and many other sports. Both can ride their bikes without stabilizers. The boys have been out on the road on their bikes and are road proficient. There will be access to a bike for yourself to go with the children. There is a canal very close by which is suitable to ride upon. The boys also have scooters which they are learning to do tricks on at the local park in the village. William is currently in Year 5 of primary school and Huw is in Year 3. Both generally enjoy school and have a good circle of friends there. They will often do after school clubs if they choose to. William is doing well at school with reading writing and arithmetic and enjoys his time there. Huw also enjoys school, although he does say that he doesn’t!! They have friends who live locally and who may come to play after school.As to be expected the children either love each other or fall out with each other.
As we live in the country, we would like you to be able to drive, and you will be able to use the car for personal use too, including going to college. The local college, if you are looking to do an ESOL language course, is around a 30min drive (Wrexham or Shrewsbury) where you will meet plenty of other aupairs. We would love you to be able to teach the children about your life and culture, to broaden their horizons. We hope that you will be able to help in the morning to get the children ready for the day (1 hours work) and help in the evening to get the children ready for bed (around 5 hours work). We would like you to take William and Huw to school in the morning (by 8.55am) and collect after school (3.15pm). We would like you to help them both with their homework, which usually consists of reading, spellings and mathematics ( taking around ½ hour per child) . Household chores will be required (see below). We will require you to do your share of the house cleaning and tidying to keep everything in order, as a house with children can get messy. The priority will be looking after the children though. Hopefully I will get a cleaner to help out. We would like baby sitting in the evening a couple of nights if possible. At the weekends I will not be working so you will be able to spend time with me too! At the weekend (Saturday) we often stay at home or meet with friends for a play date. On Sunday we often have family over for lunch or spend time with friends, which we hope you will enjoy too! Sometimes we even go away for the weekend to visit friends. We would normally expect you to work Monday to Friday, and once a month a full Saturday or Sunday. Hours of work - 30 hour per week including two nights babysitting each week and one day / evening at the weekend (per month) . You will have a minimum of one weekend off each month
