We are a French expat family who recently moved to the dynamic city of Lyon, "city of lights" and "the world's capital of gastronomy" (yes!). Lyon is strategically located only 2 hours away by train from Paris, Geneva and 45 mins to Provence. We love it here! We live 10 minutes away from the city centre by bus, in a nice home with a small flourished garden, ideally proportioned to our dog, dojo. Our three children (2 boys and one girl) are fluent in English and have enjoyed learning about different cultures during our expat years (12 years in Dubai, UAE). We love discovering new things and places, great food and going to the country side to enjoy simple joys and great family time. We are quite down to earth and welcoming. Ben,41 was a Electro Dj in his early years and now is an entrepreneur, he is fun. I, Anais,33, was a GM of an event agency and I am now taking an MBA in digital marketing for a year. I love art, reading and music (especially the Beatles) and I have a strong looove for interior design and flee markets. Paul, 11 is looking to become a great footballer and enjoys all kind of sports most importantly surfing. He loves youtube challenges, yet he is very smart and cool. Andrea, 8, enjoys reading and has a great hand when it comes to drawings as well as a true artistic flair. He is very loving and funny and wishes to become an architect. Julia, 5, she loves playing on her own with her toys and her incredible imagination. She is very cute and creative and would like to be a vet when she grows up. Since I will be taking on a year of study and my husband would be often traveling between Paris en Turino, I would need help when it comes to taking care of the kids and for light housework. This would mean being in charge of the transport to and from school (by car) and help with the homework (most of the subjects are taught in English). I shall be home by 6:30pm in the evenings and would need a hand for the the bath and dinner. From Monday to Friday, working hours would be max 30hours/week (appart from school, we would make flexible timings) with the drop off of the kids at 7:50am and in the evenings from 4pm to 7:30pm except on Wednesdays, from 12:00 to 7:30pm. The little one goes to sleep by 7:30pm as for the two boys, they usually read by that time and then, the middle one at 8pm and the eldest at 9:00pm. We like our kids to learn being independent and helpful. They are also pushed to do creative things and play outdoors rather than behind a screen. They all love playing sports and living great adventurous experiences. If you are someone who is positive, caring, responsible as well as fun and who likes taking initiatives, well that would be the perfect match! We would welcome you in our lives just as family and respect your independence. In order for you to get the most of your experience, we will always be there to help you as well as finding the right French classes for you to get the most of your experience as an aupair. Our extended family is also very welcoming and would love to accommodate you in Paris, Dijon and Deauville if you wish to travel. You would have your own room (the only one on the GF) with internet. We would be providing you a weekly allowance, a transport card, the French social security and a mobile phone with subscription and most importantly a caring home. We are looking forward to meet you! ; ) Of course in the weekends, you are free to spend it with us or do whatever you like and we would gladly help you whenever we can.
