Introduzione personale
Hi! My name is Kristen. I am 20 years old and from Taiwan. I am currently a university student at National Taiwan University and planning to take a gap year. I hope to spend this time living abroad, experiencing a different culture and becoming part of a family’s everyday life rather than simply travelling as a tourist.
A little about me
• 20 years old and from Taiwan
• University student at National Taiwan University
• Have lived independently since I was 18
• Native Mandarin speaker
• Comfortable using English in everyday life and work
• Can cook simple everyday meals
• Comfortable around pets and have two cats at home
• Hold both car and scooter driver’s licenses in Taiwan
My childcare experience
• Over two years of experience as a private tutor
• Mainly work with school aged children and teenagers
• Experience with primary school students and teenagers preparing for exams
• Worked at a children’s science camp and helped with activities, crafts and group games
What I enjoy most about working with children is getting to know them as individuals. I like listening to what they want to tell me, learning about their interests and finding different ways to connect with their personalities.
My students often talk to me about school, football, Minecraft, Pokémon or whatever they are interested in at the moment. I genuinely enjoy listening to them and getting to know their world.
Most of my experience is with school aged children rather than toddlers or infants, so I want to be honest about that. I am willing to learn and would be happy to gain experience with younger children with guidance from the family.
Things I enjoy
• Watching European football
• Making beaded bracelets and small accessories
• Exploring new places
• Trying different foods
• Learning bits of new languages
• Spending time with animals
What I hope for
I hope to find a family where we can communicate openly, respect each other and feel comfortable together. I would love to be part of your family’s daily life while also having some personal time to explore, learn the local language and experience life in a new country.
I would also be happy to share Mandarin and Taiwanese culture with your family.
Thank you for reading my profile! I would love to hear more about your family and what you are looking for in an au pair.
