Introduzione personale
Dear host family,
I’m Giulia, I’m from Italy and I’m 22 years old.
I live in a small town of just over 5,000 inhabitants in the province of Bergamo, in northern Italy. The town is very small and quiet, there isn’t much to do, and everyone knows each other.
There are three of us at home: my mum, my dad, and me. My dad has been retired for a few years and he previously worked as a municipal employee. My mum has always worked as an employee in a company. I get along very well with them and we have always been very close.
For the past few years, our cat Matisse has also been living with us.
Ever since I was little, I have always had a passion for foreign languages, which is why I decided to attend a linguistic high school, where I studied English, Spanish, and German.
During high school I had the opportunity to study in England, in Exeter, for two weeks, so I could improve my English.
After high school I started university in Verona and I have just graduated in languages (English and German) for international trade.
In my second year of university, I took part in the Erasmus program and studied for a year in Potsdam, near Berlin. It was a unique and unforgettable experience that taught me a lot and helped me grow.
In my free time, I enjoy taking long walks, working out, listening to music, reading books, and going out with my friends.
When I have several days off, I love travelling and discovering new places. My favourite destinations are art cities or anywhere by the sea.
I am a very cheerful, positive, outgoing, and open person. I enjoy meeting new people and I also like spending time with children. For the past few years, I have often babysat my cousins’ children, who are between 2 and 8 years old. I like playing with them, helping them with homework if they need it, and spending time together.
I am very precise and organised, I like keeping things tidy and having everything under control. I’m also good at handling unexpected situations and solving last-minute problems. I adapt easily to new environments and routines that are different from my own.
I decided to take on this au pair experience to improve my language skills and to get to know a new culture better, but also to gain work experience abroad and understand what I really want to do in the future
