Introduzione personale
-Hi! I’m Vivi, 24, from Indonesia. I’m an easy-going person who gets excited about new experiences, whether it’s meeting new people or trying out something I’ve never done before. The reason I want to be an Au Pair is pretty simple, I just love being around kids! I enjoy their energy and how spontaneous they are. Of course there are little tantrums here and there, but I think that’s totally normal and it actually makes me want to understand them even more. On top of that, I’ve always been curious about what it’s like to live in another country and experience a different culture, so being an Au Pair feels like the perfect mix for me, I get to spend time with kids while also learning and sharing new things with a family in another part of the world. I picture this whole experience as an exchange I’d love to share my culture and daily life from back home, while also learning about yours. Most of all, I’d really like to feel like part of the family, being there for the kids, helping out around the house.
-While I haven’t worked as an au pair before, I have hands on experience caring for my nephew since he’s 6 months old until he’s three years old. I spend a lot of time with him, playing games, taking him out for bike rides in the afternoon, giving him baths, changing his clothes, and even feeding him. Sometimes I read him storybooks or we just sing children’s songs together. In the evenings we often go to the deer park near our house. He’s currently obsessed with cars, so I usually join him while he learns about all kinds of vehicles. And At bedtime, I usually read him a book or tell him a little story to help him fall asleep. Through those experiences, I’ve also gotten used to handling moments when he throws a tantrum or just won’t stop crying. It can definitely be a bit overwhelming sometimes, but it’s taught me to be patient, to calm him down, and to find ways to make him feel more comfortable.
