Introduzione personale
My name is Aaron I'm nearly 21 years old and I'm British-Italian.
I'm a friendly, responsible, and open-minded person who loves working with children and learning about new cultures. I’m currently studying Chemistry With Medicinal Sciences at the University of Southampton, and I’d love the opportunity to become part of a host family - not only to support you with daily life, but also to experience your culture and making meaningful connections.
My mother tongue is actually Sicilian - it’s quite close to Italian, but not close enough to be easily understood by a Northerner (believe me, I’ve tried!). I picked up English at a young age, and after living in the UK for the past five years, I’ve really developed a British accent and vocabulary - which I absolutely love.
Thanks to the similarities with Sicilian (and probably also my childhood obsession with Spanish-language drama shows!), I picked up Spanish fairly quickly when I was younger. I also tutored GCSE students in both Italian and Spanish during college, and I’ve often been told I’m very good at teaching.
I can understand written French fairly well, though I’m still working on my listening and speaking skills -something I’d love to improve, especially if blessed in a Francophone household (inshallah). Lastly, I’ve recently started learning Arabic to reconnect with my roots. I’m still at the early stages, but I’m proud to say I can now read it - slowly but surely, I’m getting there!
Languages are a big part of who I am. I love the way they open doors between cultures, and I’d be more than happy to support language learning in your household, whether that’s helping with homework, sharing vocabulary, or just having fun with multilingual conversations.
I’m really excited to experience life in your country and become a big sibling figure for your children. Thank you for considering my profile!
