My name is Nila, a 21-year-old from Indonesia. I am a cheerful, responsible, and adaptable person who loves spending time with children and learning about different cultures. I love traveling and exploring new places, which helps me remain open to new experiences. In my free time, I enjoy being in nature, hiking, listening to music, watching movies, cleaning, participating in outdoor activities, and reading books. Growing up in a small village, I developed a strong sense of family values and the importance of helping others. I am open to being an au pair for a family of any nationality because for me, a new culture and environment present an interesting challenge, and I am confident I can learn and adapt, even if it is something completely new to me. I want to become an au pair because it has been a dream of mine since high school. It perfectly combines my love for traveling, spending time with children, and exploring new cultures. For me, this experience as an au pair is not just about traveling or following trends on social media (as some may do). It is about my personal growth—understanding the uniqueness of every language I learn, the places I visit, the cultures I encounter, and the people I meet, starting with the host family who welcomes me. After my au pair year, I plan to continue my education. As the eldest in my family, I’ve always been someone younger children can trust and depend on, as well as a friend to them, which brings me a lot of happiness and personal growth. One of the most unforgettable experiences I had was when I worked as a babysitter during the two-month winter holiday in Bali in 2024. I was trusted to take care of a two-year-old boy named Alex in a Russian-Ukrainian family’s home. I learned how important it is to build a strong bond with him, so there was no gap between us. I became a friend and an older sister to him, which helped him trust me and feel comfortable with me. I also learned how important communication is between us, I realized how essential it is to set an example and encourage him to express his feelings and emotions freely when we're together. I also speak English and Chinese, as I am currently studying in China and am expected to graduate in June 2025. I would be more than happy to teach your children Indonesian or Chinese, which could be a fun and valuable experience for them during our time together!
