We are a family of four, Phil (36), Annemarie (37), Billy (6) and Rosie (4). We live in Buckstone in South Edinburgh in a four bedroom detached house with a garden. Buckstone is around 20 minutes into the centre of Edinburgh by bus/car (bus every 10 minutes), and 5 minutes away from the beautiful Pentland hills to the South. We like being outdoors, exploring the woods and hills, camping, going to the beaches, and cycling on our bikes. Billy also likes football and Rosie likes ballet. We like to eat together as a family, with you as well, and cook properly. Billy moves into P3 at Buckstone Primary School in August, and Rosie will start at Buckstone (she is very excited!). Billy is very happy at school and has lots of friends nearby. Billy and Rosie are good friends, and are fun, inquisitive and (generally) well-behaved! Gran and Grandad Alan (Phil’s Mum and her husband) live in Melrose and look after Billy and Rosie after school on Fridays. Gran and Grandad Animals (Phil’s Dad and his wife) live in Kirkcaldy and do childcare from school pick-up one day a week. Granny and Papa (Annemarie’s Mum and Dad) live in Sussex, in the south of England, and often come to visit in the school holidays. Phil is a consultant transplant anaesthetist at the Royal Infirmary, and is also a doctor in the army. He is away about one week each month. Annemarie is an intensivist/anaesthetist and is currently doing a PhD. Lee-Ann has been living with us since July as our aupair, and will go back to Germany in July. She has gone to language school once a week, and helped at a German school on a Satu
Annemarie works shifts, these are usually 4 weekdays, with 1 in 5 weekends, and nights every 4 or 5 weeks. Phil is off on a Wednesday, and works 24 hours every other Thursday, and 1 in 6 weekends. Phil's Dad picks the children up from school on a Thursday, Phil's mum and her husband usually do Fridays, so after school drop-off, you would be free until Monday morning. We would like you to look after the children around school when Phil and Annemarie are at work. We anticipate this would involve taking Billy and Rosie to school 3 times a week, and picking them up, and spending the afternoon with them. We will share cooking dinner between the three of us, and occasionally you will put them to bed. You will have 4 weeks paid holiday over 12 months (during the school holidays), and £80/week pocket money. We would like you to help Billy and Rosie keep their room and toys tidy, and do their washing and some light housework. We would appreciate the occasional evening babysitting, and a few weekends over year, if our shifts coincide. During the school holidays, we would also like you to look after Billy and Rosie for the time they would normally be at school. Your bedroom is 3.6m x 3.5m with a built in wardrobe, and a desk, and faces towards the city. You will share a bathroom with Billy and Rosie. We have unlimited superfast broadband, and Netflix, in addition to Sky downstairs in the lounge.
