We are a small family of 3, from Germany and Turkey, with our 2 years old daughter. Our home is a villa in a guarded compound with several facilities, just outside of Istanbul city on the European side. We have a small garden plus we are close to the sea. The area is secure with plenty of supermarkets, a small village with food outlets, coffee-shops etc, the nearest shopping mall with cinemas is about 20 min away. There is a bus connection nearby, and not too far also access to the metro system for Istanbul metropolitan. Do’s and don’ts and must-see’s in the city can be googled and we will assist you. We do not offer a professional job or work! We offer an au-pair environment with the usual privileges and responsibilities. We assist for stay permit, not for work permit.
You would help us in parallel to our daughter’s routine, morning and afternoon. Several things you would do by yourself, such as dressing, feeding, playing, walking with her in our compound, having fun and make her develop motoric and language skills. She walks well and goes up and down the stairs since 6 months. Other activities you would share with us, going to shopping malls, to the doctor and so on. Our daughter understands a great deal in German and Turkish language but is used to hear us talking in English too. We expect her also to pick up English fairly quickly. Speaking is still gibberish except a handful of words. Of course your works are only meant as support to us, not to take over from us. We agree on free time during the week for personal activities. You would be asked to keep her room and stuff tighty and clean, also your own bedroom and shower. Help in regular housekeeping would be asked only from time to time, if guests arrive or the cleaner is not around. Free time usually would be over the weekend unless we sometimes agree otherwise so that we also can go out on a Friday or Saturday night, once in a while. You have a separate furnished bedroom, flat screen TV, WLAN, a separate fridge, kettle and a small stove if you want to boil a small meal on your own. Otherwise you share family life and eating, if you want.
