We have 3 active little boys who love being outside, playing sports, jumping on the trampoline and playing games. We live in a beautiful village about 1.5 hours drive outside central London, 45 minutes by car from Cambridge. We have a dog, Cato, who is 3 years old, and 2 guinea pigs. Our au pair would have their own separate cottage which is next to our house, with a kitchen, living room, and upstairs a double bedroom and bathroom. You would also have use of your own car. English courses are available in the nearby towns and there are a few other au pairs in the area and many in the local towns.
Lucy works 3 days a week and most of your work would be done on those three days, being Tuesday - Thursday. On these days you would be up at 7, getting the boys ready for school and giving them breakfast. The boys are taken to school at 815 and the little one goes to his nanny for the morning from 9am -1230, when you would have free time. At 1230 Archie comes home and has a sleep for 2 hours, but you would need to be in the house in case he wakes. From 330 (or 415 if they have a club) - 630 the boys are home from school and you would need to let them play, and give them dinner. Lucy is home by 630. On Mondays and Fridays Lucy looks after the children and you have mostly free time, just helping out if needed for a couple of hours on those days.
