Hi, I am Irish and my husband is Indian. We have two daughters - 8 10 months and almost 4 years! We are both shift workers so our family does not have any set routine.... it changes weekly and even daily! We seek an au pair who can be flexible with the arrangements. We would like a girl who is kind, mature, patient and who is comfortable to stay alone with the children at night time. We have family present in the immediate area also. Our family will need an au pair for maybe the next 2 years so we are happy to look for long or short term au pairs. This is a new experience for us so we are also happy to have a girl who has never been an au pair before- but it is best if she has experience with young children. We look forward to welcoming our au pair into our family and to giving them a good experience of life in Ireland. We want to be as fair and as kind as possible to any girl who comes to live with us. We will treat you well and will want to make you feel like you are part of our family. If you think you are interested I look forward to hearing from you. I have a lot to say and tell but I will try to explain the main points now: Your main duty will be child minding and cooking meals for the children when we are at work. We like our children to eat healthy so we like fresh meals cooked but we understand sometimes chips and pizza are fine too! It is not your duty to clean the home but it is your duty to help keep it tidy and in order. ..... to help with light housework during your working hours e.g. clean up after meals, tidy the toys and childrens clothes, if the children spill food on the floor to clean it up..... normal things. You will be responsible to keep your own bedroom clean and to do your own laundry and clean the bathroom after you use it. We checked with some different agencies it seems that the normal pocket money is about €95 per week for 35 hours duty. We offer 100 per week + phone credit. We require someone who is willing to be flexible as maybe some weeks the hours will be more and maybe some weeks the hours will be less but on average in a month it will be 35 per week. We will also be very flexible with the au pair and will give her as much free time as possible. We can be flexible with pocket money if extra hours are required. There will be some weeks when there will be 4 or 5 free days and some weeks with only 1 free day. The BENEFITS for the au pair coming to our family is that by having flexible hours you will have more block time free which you give you time to travel if you wish. You will also get to learn about my husband's Indian culture and experience home made Indian food and of course learn about my Irish Culture and have home made Irish food :-) I have lots more to say but I think the main point to realise with our family is that we need a girl who is flexible and capable of caring for young children.
