My name is Stephanie, I am a Canadian living in Chamonix, Mont-Blanc with my 3.5 year old son Lochlin, my Scottish husband Ellis and our dog Sanook. We are expecting our second child, a baby girl, in October. We are a friendly and relaxed family who enjoys the outdoors and traveling. At home we mainly speak English however my son and I are fluent in French My husband works offshore (4 weeks home 4 weeks away). I run 2 holiday rental homes and my son attends maternelle monday, tuesday, thursday and friday. In our spare time we try and get out skiing as much as we can. We live in the French Alpes in the ski resort of Chamonix. Chamonix is world renound for it's mountains. We are a family of keen skiiers and hikers, and we always try to find time to enjoy the outdoors. When we are not in the mountains we also enjoy wondering around town and enjoying fine food. We are minutes away from town by foot. All the fun and excitment of this town is practically at your doorstep! Some days we venture over to Italy or Switzerland. We hope you will join us! Daily life in our house typically consists of getting up, walking the dog and getting our son ready and off to school and looking after a newborn. Our son is at school from 8.20-16h. Shared daily responsibilities include some light cooking and cleaning, and helping out with the baby. Every wednesday morning I take my son skiing from 9-11.30. He goes to ski school saturday mornings and I have my hands full with checkouts, chalet turnarounds and check ins. I am in and out of the house will require support for the kids throughout the
We are looking for an enthusiastic and fun addition to our family. Someone who will take initiative or step back when needed. Our son Lochlin will soon be 4. He is a happy and energetic boy who loves to bike, play in the snow, ski and laugh. He is very good with his hands and loves to build (and destroy!). His speech and language skills are a little slow and interaction with our son would ideally involve some learning through play (painting, puzzles, etc). A typical day for an aupair would involve helping to get my son off to school and getting the dog out, assistance with the baby and some laundry and or cleaning. You will always have a couple of hours to yourself to get out for a quick ski or coffee in town. My most busy days are Saturday and Wednesdays. Throughout the week you will have time to yourself to enjoy the mountains and beautiful Chamonix, and your evenings free. We are within minutes walking from both the resort town centre which has many restaurants, cafes, and shops, as well as some of the world's best skiing! My son finishes school at 4pm. In the evenings I may need help to look after him (4.30 - 7.30), involving some educational activities (i.e. colours, numbers, shapes, vocabulary). On his day off school I try to take him skiing or sledging. Evening babysitting once or twice a week will be required. NOTE: when my husband is home your work load will decrease. This is a typical schedule but can vary.
