We are John and Julie. We have 3 boys and live in Ripon, North Yorkshire. Our sons are:- Harry who is 18. Harry likes his computer, music and gaming. He works as a film editor. Joe who is 17. Joe goes to college. He likes music and works part time in a restaurant. Jim who is 5 (6 in August). Our dog, Max, is 5 years old Jack Russell. You will need to walk him every day. He is very affectionate and it’s important that you love dogs. Jim is lovely! He is a typical 5 year old who enjoys most activities. He particularly enjoys playing minecraft on his computer, being outside on his bike or scooter, going to parks etc. We’d really like someone who could take him out for picnics, or to the park or the library etc. The older boys can look after themselves. We are a fun, kind family.
Jim currently goes to school from 8.45 to 15.15 each day. You will need to take Jim to school and collect him each day. The school is a short walk from our house (10 mins). We also need some help with housework – such as washing and ironing clothes, hoovering, cleaning the kitchen – if you could help prepare a meal once a week that would be fantastic! Our other au pairs have gone to college in Harrogate to study English 2 afternoons a week and so you can do this if you wish to. Our other au pairs have also got jobs waitressing in the evenings 2 or 3 nights a week to earn some extra money and make friends and you can do this if you wish. Julie is a solicitor who works full time in Harrogate. She usually leaves the house at about 7.45 and gets home at about 17.30. John is an investigator and works in York. He works at home on Mondays and Fridays. When he is in the office he usually leaves the house at 07.30 and returns home at 17.00. Some babysitting would be appreciated. You would be very welcome to join us when we go for days out during the holidays/ weekends. or you can stay here and go out with friends when we are away. We like to go away in our caravan to the Yorkshire Dales and you can join us and stay in a tent if you wish. We love music and always go to a least one music festival every year and we would like you to come with us. Ideally we are looking for someone who can stay for about 6 months, but we can be flexible. Our much loved current au pair leaves on 2 June so we are looking for someone to start in June 2016. We pay £70 a week during term time, and £85 a week during the holidays.
