Hi, we are a family of 5: Johanna & Viktoria (they are identical twins and 4 yrs old) and Konstantin, 5 months old. And we - the parents: Jana & Ulf. Part of our Family is also Monic, our aupair. After almost two years with us she has to leave now to finish her studies. The girls are in Kindergarden every day until 13:30. And then they have activities like Ballet, art class,... Our little son Konstantin is at home every day with his Nanny, because Ulf (fulltime) and I (Parttime) are working. We live in a flat with a nice garden in the city of Hamburg. Everything is close, public transportation and bikes are everywhere. Our everyday life is the following: in the mornings, my husband and I take car of the kids. We make them ready and take them to kindergarten. At 8 our nanny is coming and she takes over the baby. Then we all leave for kindergarten drop off and then Ulf an I are going to work. At 13:30 our aupair, Monic, is picking up the Girls from Kindergarten and taking them home. Then the Girls have an hour " quiet time" to rest. While they are resting, Monic is ironing clothes. At around three o'clock, she Takes them to their activities ( monday: Art Class, tuesday: Swimming, wedneyday: ballet,....) sometimes I join them with our Baby. We love to watch them. Then we all go home and take the Kids to bed. At around 7 everyone is in bed and sometimes I do some sports or have a work function to attend to. Then Monic is ironing and doing homework ( for her Language Class), preparing Kids Stuff for the next day.
We expect the aupair to take the time and to get to Know our children and to be a trustworthy friend / Big Sister like compagnion / Person to look up to authority for our kids. The main Job is to take them to their activities ( mostly walking distance) or By bus and then to take them home and to bed. Very rarely the au pair will do the evenings alone - because I am only working parttime i am mostly there in the evenings. We expect the au pair to speak english to the Kids We expect the au pair to do some light housework: for example ironing. We have a cleaning lady who is coming three times a Week. So there is hardly any cleaning to do. The advantages are - that most weekends are "off". - because we take care of the kids ourselves. - the au pair is a "live- out" au pair with her own room in a small flat with other au Pairs/ students. It is not far from our Flat. - Money for Language classes, Insurance and Public transportation will be provided. - our au pair Monic will be with uns until the end of june - so if the nee au pair will come beginning of june you girls have a nice Time together and an easy was to get to know everything
