We are a friendly, easy going English-Australian family of 4, plus a small dog, looking for an au pair to help with our 5 year old son and 1 year old daughter outside of school/childminder hours. You need to have a suitable visa to work in the UK as we are unable to help with this. We live in Radlett, Hertfordshire, a pretty village on the outskirts of London with a direct train line into central London (30 mins). We have a 4 bedroom house and a nice private garden with nearby parks. Our son's school and daughter's childminder are both within walking distance. My husband and I both work full time - my husband commutes into London (or occasionally works overseas in Europe) and I work locally as a primary teacher. Our daughter goes to the childminder from 7.45 - 5 or 6pm currently, and our son attends the school that I work at, from 7.45-5 or 6pm. Our hope is that an au pair would allow the children to come home earlier and spend some fun time at home before we arrive back from work. The au pair would have their own room and share a bathroom with children.
Our au pair will need to: - drop off/pick up our daughter at the childminder - possibly drop off/pick up son from school if driving (optional) - play with the children before/after school, take them to the park etc. - prepare simple meals for children in afternoon - help children get ready for school/childminder - tidy away toys at end of day - tidy away breakfast things - walk dog Weekends are mostly yours, but if you would like, additional hours are available such as evening babysitting. As a teacher I have holidays every 6 weeks or so and with prior warning you would be able to go away during this time and explore the country further.
