Jordi , Jan , Abril and I live in a small city called Balaguer in Lleida, north of Spain. It is about one hour from Barcelona and the lovely beaches of Tarragona, and also about one hour from the Pyrenees and the beautiful National Park of Aigües Tortes. Although we have lived in Balaguer for over 15 years now, both Jordi and I are from a small town in the Pyrenees. Jordi is an engineer and I am a teacher. The main reason why we have decided to have an au-pair is because we'd like Jan and Abril to learn English, to acquire English in every day situations. We would like the au-pair to be an active and friendly person, who loves being with children and wishes to know a new culture and to have new experiences.
During the week, we would like the au-pair to take the children to school (a three-minute walk!!), to some after-school activities and back home. We would like her to stay and play with our children so that they learn English and share family life. In her free time, the au-pair can go for a walk along the river, ride a bike, take the train or bus to Barcelona or Lleida... There are lots of things you can do here!! There are always other au-pairs and conversation assistants you can meet if you want to. At the weekend we would like her to join the different activities we can organize together, discober our beautiful country!
