We are a family of Bulgarian origin, living in the Boston area for almost 20 years. We are looking for an au pair to help with pre-school and after-school for our 3 girls and help them learn/improve their Bulgarian. Driving is optional; can provide you with a car if needed. Happy to sponsor classes you are willing to take as per US regulations, as well as introduce you to others who may share similar interests and can help you learn about the area and decide on how to spend your free time.
Key responsibilities would involve preparing meals for the kids, especially breakfast, lunch boxes, and afternoon snack. Help getting them ready for school in the morning and spending time with them after the school bus brings them home in the afternoon. Light household work may involve makings the kids' beds, occasional help with kids laundry, helping them practice/learn Bulgarian, help with school homework (reminding them to do it). Can expect to have most weekends free; also most of the day when the kids are not home. Please not that there is no public transportation to the house itself, so unless you drive, we can drop you off/pick you up at the station in the evenings and on weekends only. We have not hosted an au pair before but we've had a live-in nanny from Brazil stay with us and help with the twins for almost 3 consecutive years.
