I can tell you we are all very excited about having you home. Last year we decided to contact an au-pair. It was a great experience and we would like to repeat. If you are looking for a Spanish experience in a welcoming family and you would like to be more like the eldest daughter, then please consider staying with us this summer. Coming down to us, we have three children: Alicia (11), Bruno (9) and SofÃa (6). My wife is a director and owner of a therapeutic center for the elderly while I am an engineer. We have both lived abroad: my wife as an au-pair in England for a year; I did my tenth grade in the US and a University year in France. We know what it is to be in a foreign country and we can tell you will not regret it; count on our support and advice in case you might need it to make the most out of your stay with us. We truly believe our kids are great. You can say Alicia has a strong personality but she is always helpful and good-hearted. Bruno may not be 100% focused at times, but he is very affectionate. SofÃa is rather shy at first, but so sweet and thoughtful when you get to know her. And they are all always in for a good time. We all live in a flat with four rooms (one being a multipurpose room that would be yours), a living room, a kitchen and two bathrooms, in a dwelling with a swimming pool and a paddle tennis court. Our home is located 30 km northwest from downtown Madrid in a small town with a long name: Villanueva del Pardillo.
And then there is you. As I said at the beginning, we are all very excited at the prospect of having again an au-pair at home. Our kids are used to having different people look after them and they really like the idea of improving their English, even SofÃa made a lot of progress last year. We, as parents, are really looking forward to helping our children learn more English and to having the opportunity of getting to know someone from a non-spanish-speaking country. This is a great experience for us all, however you look at it, and we anticipate we will learn so many things all of us. So you see, we are looking for someone that is cheerful, speaks English fluently and enjoys being with children; someone that is willing to come to Spain to learn about our country and culture and that believes that may fit in our family, as an active member. On the education side, we talk a lot to our children and try to explain to them why things are done one way and not the other, where their limits are and how/when they will be able to go over those limits. As for house work, we have someone doing the main cleaning and ironing, but we would expect you to collaborate just as another member of the family in keeping the house tidy.
