We have a busy life but we have a lot of fun. We have an active lifestyle and we typically go hiking, go to the farmers market, go to the zoo/aquarium or go to the park. We also like to go out to restaurants for lunch and dinner at least once a week. When we’re at home, we like to make pancakes on Sunday mornings and make popcorn and watch movies together. I also like to cook healthy meals at home and we sit down together as a family to eat. We occasionally have family members visit our house and stay with us. We sometimes visit with friends and have friends over to our house. Our lifestyle is about being active, eating delicious food and being together with family and friends.
We would like to host an Au Pair because we would like to teach our children Japanese and have exposure to Japanese culture. I was born and raised in the United States, but my parents are from Japan and I also speak some Japanese. We currently have a Japanese nanny so our children understand both English and Japanese. We expect our Au Pair to take care of our children while we are at work. A typical schedule will be 9 hours a day from 8:30am-5:30pm Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include speaking to our children in Japanese, getting the children dressed in the morning, changing diapers, preparing and feeding meals including breakfast/lunch/snacks, doing the children’s laundry (clothes/bedding/towels), cleaning the children’s dishes/cups, keeping the children’s rooms clean and organized, going outside to the park, doing activities such as reading books, singing songs, and creating arts and crafts. When my son starts preschool in the fall of 2015, we also expect our Au Pair to drive him for drop off and pick up every day that he has preschool scheduled.
