Hi, we are a young family living in Brussels, however, separated by 2500 km. I come from Slovakia and I work in Brussels. My companion is Portuguese and he continues his work in Lisbon, where I have stayed for more than 3 years bringing up our daughter. We are just adapting to our new life in Brussels, however, being a single mother for most of the days, is not making it easy. Gabriela, our daughter, is 3.5 years old and she goes to a Waldorf/Steiner type school. She is very lively, communicative, and curious. We are looking for a responsible, sensible, respectful and open-minded person. We practice mostly macrobiotic/vegetarian diet with some exceptions for Hungarian or Portuguese dishes (these might include also fish and white meat). We prefer nature and books to TV and drawing and play to video games. At home, we speak Hungarian (myself) and Portuguese. Gabriela is just learning French by her day-to-day contacts in the kindergarten. We prefer that the au-pair speaks Hungarian. A little French would also be welcome. We envisage that the au pair participates in a French course, commonly available for foreigners.
The au-pair shall be available to drive (by car and public transport) Gabriela to her kindergarten 4 days/week where she stays until around 4pm. After pick-up and make her company until her mum arrives (around 6pm). At least once a week, babysitting in the evening. In the meanwhile, prepare dinners (I will be glad to make an introduction into the macrobiotic kitchen) and help keep the house clean and tidy. Weekends where Gabriela´s father is around (2-3 weekends/week) are free and also part of each Wednesday when I do not work.
