We are professional people with a delightful and intelligent 15 year old child. We both work long hours although one of us is usually at home while the other is at work. We feel it is important that the family have dinner together and that would include you, every evening where we can all catch up with events of that day. Our son goes to school using a bus and a train so organisation and routine is very important for him. We have a large house that is close enough to travel to central London but also close to the countryside. The area that we live in is called Sevenoaks and there is a college that teaches English as well as other things. We have very good transport links here and are close to a shopping centre. Our pets include 2 dogs and a cat that all live in the garden. We value our family time together and also our privacy and for that reason would expect our au pairs to fit into our family as we will be trusting them with our son and also our home. We do not practice any religion at home but would accept any religion you may wish to practice. We would like a couple that would stay with our family for a minimum of 6 months and we would expect you both to become a part of the family, focused on our son and home to deal with any issues that arise around the house. We will provide you with your own private living accommodation which is a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. You will have internet access. We will not accept smokers. Do not apply if you are not a couple and if you are not over 20.
We would be asking for housework and cooking during the day, this does include cleaning. We would also like one person to look after the gardens, animals and maintenance of the house itself. This would mean being able to do odd jobs. The position is live in. My wife has to work night shifts occasionally and I sometimes leave for work very early in the morning. You will have your own private rooms. Our dogs love going out for one walk during the day and we do live close by open fields. We will not expect you to work weekends unless agreed with you. We will occasionally ask you to babysit in the evenings but again this would be by arrangement. We cannot accept smokers inside or outside the house. We will be conducting character and criminal checks on candidates. We would like you to say a minimum of six months unless we agree mutually to end the contract with a months’ notice.
