Dear next Au Pair, This is a little different because I am an Au Pair looking for an Au Pair ;) I have been with a lovely family for a year and now that I'm back in Germany, we're having a challenge: who can find the best Au Pair to replace me?! So if you're fun, love hugs and have lots of energy to run after two Kids that love to run around and play (as well as looking after a baby - which sometimes is a good excuse to sit down and chill for a bit) - then please contact me !!! Obviously, my hostfamily and I are very close and I really love them! All of them! And I am also concerned about the next Au Pair and would like to be sure that it is going to be someone who fits into the family and will get to have a fantastic time just like I had!! So plaese, don't contact me if you think like to stay in your room or if you take stuff too seriously! But if you're flexible, open and except that everyone makes mistakes (yourself included - so no need to worry!!) then text me and I can tell you more =)
My family was very easygoing with everything! They knew that as a foreigner, maybe first time in a different countrie for that long AND living with total strangers... is not always easy. They always helped me with whatever is on my mind and we could talk about EVERYTHING. The parents are very intelligent and they wouldn't try to use you - they apreciate all of your help and know that they are lucky to have you (if you are the person I am looking for hehe) Well, your duties would be to look after the Kids whenever the parents are at work of course - both work shift work so you may sometimes be responsible at night or in the early mornings or at the weekends. But every week you get 2 days off plus one extra day every month when the Kids are sick and mum stays home and things like that! The 5yo Girl will be going to School 5 days a week and so be home at 3 I guess and the 2yo goes to daycare twice (you will have to drive him there then). The will be staying with you all the time but he is pretty easygoing and not hard to look after. The kids also have strict rules to follow like bedtime routines and so on. All I can say is that it was easy for me to follow their rules because it all made sense!! Sometimes the 2yo slept in my bed as well because he loves cuddles (just like the rest of the family) and he is very bonding - a very adorable little boy! I'd love to tell you more !!
