We live in Windhoek the capital of Namibia. We have 2 kids who will be in June age 3&8, we live in the city but have a big house and grounds(here in Namibia it is possible). We do have a cleaning lady already and for us the Au pair must concentrate and be responsible for the children not just being a friend for the kids, but also teach them that they need to pick up after themselves:-))) we believe kids should have good table manners etc. They are both in a German school in the mornings, my daughter need some help in German for schoolwork in the afternoons(my German grammar is very bad) both children also speak a bit of English & Afrikaans!. we have lots of animals, so u need to like animals,they also allowed inside the house and my daughter's favorite jack russel sleep with her. Although u will have your own little flat to stay in, adjacent to the house. Our kids love to swim, jump on the trampoline or generally play in the garden. Our family love to invite friends over or visit them so we need someone that also like to socialize since although you could choose to stay at home with the kids we prefer you to join, make friends and also another eye to watch the little ones.
We need a GERMAN speaking Au pair that can take responsibility,neat and organized so they can take independent decisions. For this reason we prefer someone a bit older. Someone that want to become part of the family, not just a job and then partying at night. In short, after taking kids to school in the mornings around 7 afterwards you will be free until around 11h30-12h00, then it is fetch them from school, prepare a light lunch (so you need some basic cooking skills, and no vegetarian) then Thano go to sleep for about 2hrs and you have time to do homework with Shani or play specific games etc with her. When he wakes up you need to entertain both, swim, play, do arts & crafts, whatever comes to mind, just not TV! I come home around 17h30 we then prepare dinner together or you can bath kids I do dinner or VV. Then early dinner and you have time to yourself again from around 19h00. You welcome to go out also that is why we give transport, or spend the evenings with us.
