Our family is very exited to have an au pair part of the family! We are sure you will enjoy your stay with our family! Please feel free to ask anything that comes to your mind! Our family includes mom Anna 33, dad Mikko 34 and 3 kids of age 4 years Luca,2,5 years Elli-Sofia and 4 months Casper. Mom is staying at home until summer 2014. After that she will be working half time. Dad is entrepeneur and he is working full time and sometimes more. Normally he doesn't work during the weekends. Mom is registered nurse and works in 3 shifts. This means that your working hours may change depending of the shifts. You never have to work night time. We live in city of 40 000 people. City called Rauma. It is located in southern part of the Finland. Rauma is very beautifull and interesting city. You will have opportunities to meet other young people, go shopping, cinemas, do the sports you like and take a finnish language courses. Our family is very outgoing and we have active lifestyle. We would like if you are also energetic and outgoing person. Familys mom was an au pair for over 2 years at the United States. She loved that job and the family. since that she has allways wanted to have an au pair of her own when she has her own family. It's a great cultural exchange among the main job for everyone. Among finnish language as a mother language Mom speaks fluently english and she speaks well spanish also. Dad speaks fluently also swedish and knows well english. Kids knows some basics
We expect you to help mom with the kids, for examples take the older ones to outside or inside park or stay with at least 2 kids when mom is doing grocerys, when she's cleaning the house or going to exercise etc. At first You don't have to be alone with all 3 at the same time if you don't wish. When mom starts going to work (summer 2014) you will have to stay with all them part of the day. Our 4 year old goes to daytime care for 3 hours on tuesdays,wednesdays,and thursdays from 1p.m to 4 p.m. When the middle one turns 3 years(May) she will also start going to the same daytime care. Sometimes you should have to take them there by car or you may also take a bike or walk with them. It's only 1,2 km from the home. We expect you to speak fluent english or at least you should know more english than just basics. You should also have enough experience working with kids. For us it's important to keep our house nice, clean and organized. That's why we expect you to respect that if it's not really "your thing". We don't expect you to do cleaning, just the normal neatness and tidyness is enough.
