We are a warm and friendly Chinese host family living in Beijing, China. Our home is located in a central and convenient area of Beijing, with easy access to shops, restaurants, parks and public transport. Our family atmosphere is respectful, harmonious and supportive. The host family includes the parents, their child and the grandmother. We value kindness, responsibility, honesty, patience and open communication in daily life. We are looking for a female au pair with native-level English, ideally from a native English-speaking background. Our main goal is to create a natural English-speaking environment for the child through daily communication, play, reading and simple activities. We hope to welcome someone who is kind, patient, responsible and genuinely enjoys spending time with children. Previous experience in childcare, babysitting, tutoring, summer camps or education would be a strong advantage. This is not just childcare work. We hope this can be a respectful cultural exchange. The au pair will be able to experience real Chinese family life, Beijing city life, Chinese food, language and culture. We can provide a private room, meals with the family, monthly pocket money and support during the stay in China. We are looking for someone who can start around September or later and stay for several months if possible.
The main role of the au pair is to spend time with the child and help create a natural English-speaking environment at home. The expected time with the child is around 30 hours per week. The exact schedule will be discussed clearly in advance and arranged in a respectful and reasonable way. Typical activities may include speaking English with the child in daily life, reading English books, playing games, doing simple educational activities, helping with daily routines related to the child, and encouraging the child to become more confident in using English. We are not looking for heavy housework. We may only ask for light help related to the child, such as keeping the child’s play area tidy after activities or helping organize books and toys used during the day. We hope the au pair can be patient, responsible, caring and willing to communicate openly with the family. We also respect the au pair’s personal time and privacy.
