We are a French family with 3 children. We came back to Bordeaux last summer after 11 years spent in London. We are consequently all fluent in English too. However, we speak French at home. We also have a dog called Nelson, a very sweet cocker spaniel. We would be very happy to make you discover French culture and the beautiful area we live in. We like our food, good wines, music, theatre, outdoors and a good laugh. We live in a large contemporary house with a patio and a small pool. We also have a country house in the Dordogne where we like to spend week-ends when the weather is nice. My husband is away 4 days a week and I (the mum) work full time. Our two daughters are 14 and 11 and they go to school on their own by bus. Our son is 8 and he goes to the local school, which is a 10 mn walk. Our eldest daughter enjoys drawing, baking, playing guitar and piano. Our second daughter enjoys acting, writing, making edits. Our son likes football, tennis and most sports, playing guitar and video games.
We have had ou first Au Pair this year and it has been a great experience for our family. She has now left so we are looking for someone else to start at the end of August / beginning of September. We will need someone more particularly to care for our son: to take him to and back from school, to entertain him. You will also need to take him and our youngest daughter to some of their activity classes. We need a pet lover as walking the dog during the week will be part of your tasks. Above all, we are looking for a big sister for the kids but with some authority! You will have your own (semi-independant) studio flat inside our house. So you can chose to spend time with us or to have some time alone when you prefer. In addition to your pocket money, we will pay for your transport card (buses, tramways) that will allow you to travel easily. We can also lend you a bike. Also, our Au pair this year took a class at the French Institute. So that is something you could do too if you wish.
