We live in York: which is a beautiful, historic, walled city in North Yorkshire, England. It has a lot to offer. It is a picturesque and safe place to live. There are a lot of English language students here. We live in a 3 bed detached house in the North of York. We have a small cottage garden. Our home is a 30 minute walk from the centre. There are regular buses where we live. I have a bicycle and helmet which you are welcome to use on your time off. I'm looking forward to welcoming an Au-Pair into our home. My son James, is 4 and will be starting school in September. I work as an optometrist 5 days a week -- Tues-Sat. You will have your own private double bedroom, meals and pocket money. Your bedroom is decorated with cars. You can put posters up with blue tack if you would like to cover them. I can give you a small lock box which you can keep your valuables in. We are a creative and relaxed family and can't wait to meet you.
I won't ask you to work more than 30 hours a week. Housework is only light (Please clean up after yourself and help with James's laundry). School is a 5-10 minute walk away. I will take James to school every day. I'll collect him after school Mon-Weds. I would need you to collect James on Thursdays and Fridays after school and give him his tea, as I will be working till 7pm. I will be home around 7.30pm. I would need you to look after James on alternate Weekends -- alternating with visitation with his father. During the week you can sleep in and would be free to do as you wish. You would also have Mondays off as that is my day off also. I would need you to babysit a couple of evenings. This would be arranged in advance. James is a very happy, confident and chatty child. He is full of energy and likes to play. He loves meeting new people and is very inquisitive. I would just like to add, I do not believe in corporal punishment and that is not acceptable in our home.
