We are looking for a lovely aupair to become part of our family from September 2018. We are a fun, easy going household of two, myself and my daughter Lavinia who will be five years old in November 2018. We live in a spacious three bedroom house in one of the loveliest parts of London, Crouch End, leafy neighbourhood with a strong community feel to it. There are fantastic transport links and lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, gyms, outdoor pool and lovely parks in the neighbourhood. We are maximum 30 minutes from the more central touristy parts of London (Oxford Street, South Bank, Camden). We are 10 minutes from Archway station and 15 minutes from Finsbury Park station. Lavinia has a vivacious personality, she is kind and attentive, gets on with everyone very easily and likes to make friends. She does not have any allergies and is a good eater. She enjoys arts and craft, singing and dancing, languages as well as learning her sums, practising writing and reading short words. She loves the film Frozen and the other Disney films as well. Lavinia has an ipad and within the set time limits that we have agreed, she loves to watch cartoons and play educational games. She can get quite competitive at family board games which she enjoys. She has made many friends at nursery whom we tend to meet for playdates with in the local parks and we hope to continue when she goes to school. Everyone is really lovely and some of her friends will go to the same school as her. Lavinia will start school in September 2018 which is 7-10 minutes walk away from our house so it is very convenient. As for me, I am a single mum working full-time in finance and do tend to have a busy schedule. We have a fun, easy going lifestyle with lots of activities planned over the week & weekends.
I am looking for a flexible aupair to help 30 hours per week plus additional babysitting time and who would like to stay for 6-12 months or longer. General activities would be getting Lavinia ready for school; helping her get ready for bed; keeping her suitably entertained at home; helping with homework; doing some light cleaning/food preparation/household chores; and keeping Lavinia's room tidy, her clothes and toys and books. We have a bi-weekly cleaner so no heavy house cleaning required. If you enjoy arts, crafts, cooking, baking, playing and listening to music, dance and other hobbies then it would be advantageous as Lavinia would enjoy participating in these activities. It is important for us to have an aupair who can keep Lavinia entertained both with and without technology. I have been teaching Lavinia French and whenever we go back to Canada to see the family, she gets to practise a bit more. We speak English at home. Any aupair who is French speaking can be a bonus but by no means necessary. We do not have any pets. Broadly, the working days are Monday-Thursday & Saturday: Monday to Thursday mornings 7am - 9am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 3pm-7.30pm Wednesday 6pm-10pm Saturdays (flexible) Any extra hours babysitting, for example, week evenings or Saturdays, will be for extra pocket money. I can be flexible with regards to your time so we all get the best experience. Fridays and Sundays OFF. The qualities I value most in an aupair are that they love children, are fun, fair, ability to be strict, but also empathetic, honest and reliable. Ideally you will be fluent in English. You will have your won double room in our newly built home, which thankfully is warm in winter and cool in summer. There is a comfortable bed, wardrobe and desk and lovely art. You will be sharing the bathroom with Lavinia only. There is fast broadband in the house all modern conveniences.
