Hello! I am English, my husband is American, we live in Le Cannet close to Cannes with our 2 children aged 5 and 2. Our 5 year old will be at a summer school so it is just someone to be with our 2 year old daughter. We aren't a strict family and are very relaxed, except about manners :) our children are fun and playful and chatty! So we are looking for someone fun to join our crazy little family and help with our little monkeys! We cant wait to meet you and hear about your life and aspirations x
We both work full time so have a good and organised schedule, we are looking for someone to stay with us from mid July until 10th August- although there is potentially an option to stay an extra week whilst we are on holiday to just feed our 2 quiet and timid cats :) We wont pay a fee for this week as it is yours to relax, read a book, enjoy the pool and essentially be on vacation in the South of France :) The start date is flexible as we have childcare until 3rd August so anything before this is a bonus to just help out mornings and evenings and occasionally weekends... If you have a driving licence great but this isn't essential if you are fit and like walking, we have a spare car if do have a licence but its not needed and you can walk 10 mins to the regular bus to town and beaches. We live in a lovely part of Le Cannet a short walk to bars and restaurants and shops. You will have your own room and the main bathroom will be yours (it has a shower sink and toilet) but it is used by the children to brush their teeth at night, we have our own bathroom so you won't share with us. Your room has a little terrace attached for when you want quiet time! And your own English TV/Netflix. Our apartment has a very large garden/terrace with a sea view, where we spend most of our time, dinners / bbq's are enjoyed outside always. Our domain has a lovely swimming pool which you have access to whenever you like. We have had an aupair the last 3 summers so are used to having someone live with us, our last aupair is still local and comes back to visit us and spend time with the children still which is great. We will give you her details so you can mail her for feedback :)) We are looking for an aupair who is fit and healthy, loves to play, is outgoing and confident, has been away from home before and not shy travelling in a foreign country, someone proactive and who can cook for themselves when needed (I prepare all evening meals but you will need to sort your own breakfast and lunches altho we will ask you for a list of foods you like so we can do the shop). We eat meat and vegetables and are fairly healthy, but if you have any food intolerances we will ask you to organise your own meals so we don't need to be preparing separate meals for everyone after a long day at the office! Other than that we will never ask you to cook for the family, unless you are a keen chef and don't mind preparing the odd meal! There is no cleaning as we have a weekly cleaner, but we ask that you help keep the toys tidy. We don't want a party girl as we prefer not to have someone out each evening and home late every night :) the priority is to spend time with our little girl and teach her with play, sharing, drawing, puzzles whilst you use your free time to enjoy the South of France. We also don't want someone who will spend all their time in their bedroom watching TV haha From mid July to 3rd August your weeks will be quiet, the kids are in childcare so it's just helping in the morning to get our daughter ready, we will take her to childcare and the days are free for you, then it's help in the evenings whilst I cook dinner. And maybe a few hours on the weekend so we can have a date night or afternoon at the beach! From 6th-10th August our daughter will be at home and we have no childcare so this will be a busy week with more hours to look after her Monday to Friday. Each week we will pay 110€ for you to spend exploring! We will provide a bus pass for Le Cannet/ Cannes and credit for your mobile. We will provide all food aswell. Flights are to Nice and we will pay for this from the UK. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to experience France and loves being in the heat (it is HOT in the summer!!) And loves being around children. We live at the top of a pretty steep (but short) hill which is why we enjoy the beautiful views across Cannes and the Mediterranean, but you have to be pretty fit to get up and down especially with a 2 year old who may or may not want to walk it haha Our little boy is polite, well spoken, cheeky, sweet and loving, kind and thoughtful- our 2 year old daughter is hilarious, cheeky, likes to flick her hair and say no alot, she's the baby of the family so you need to be strict with her and not give in to her demands for cookies and ice creams haha she loves to give hugs and kisses and sit and draw, she loves her food and enjoys play but would also spend all her time watching peppa pig if we let her:)) Lastly we said no smokers as we do not smoke around the children ever, but if you are an occasional smoker / vaper this is ok as you do have your own terrace but we ask that you never do this when taking care of the little ones :) also its good if you have some basic French so you can get around but it is very English where we live so it's really fine if you can't speak French, may be just do some reading of basics like please and thank you or asking for directions! Otherwise it is very touristy so you'll always find someone to speak English.
