We are looking for someone who can help for a year or more. We are busy working parents, Martin runs a programming company, and Hazel is a senior government health lawyer. We are mainly looking for someone who could help get the children to school in the morning for 9am, collect them in the afternoon at 3:20pm, feed them an evening meal and encourage them to do homework, practice languages, or maybe be slightly more active than just watching TV! Some light household duties. We need someone from mid-June 2018, and ideally we would like someone who is looking to stay with us 12 months. Babysitting one night per fortnight. ~20 hours per week. £75/week. Reasonable travelling expenses to the UK. We are just saying goodbye to our last au pair who is returning to university after being with us for 5 months. She has been a valued addition to our family and we're very sorry to see her go. She's more than happy to help us find a replacement, so you can ask her about her own experiences with our family. We live in the historic village of Horbury on the outskirts of Wakefield - which is about 20 minutes away from Leeds (one of largest cities outside London), and 45 minutes from York. Horbury is quite lively for a village with bars and restaurants. We live in a large Victorian house. As our live-in au pair, you would be living on the third floor of our house that has it's own fully fitted bathroom and a lounge area. There's a heated open air pool - but honestly too cold to use except in midsummer. We also live opposite a lovely park, which has a great kid and teenage playground in it too.
We're looking for an au pair to look after our two children. Their names are Fern, an 11 year-old girl and Tristan a 9 year-old boy. They are both very bright kids that are doing well at school and they are generally polite and well behaved. Their school is 5 minutes' walk from our house. We would also want you to look after the children in the school holidays where necessary, but during the holiday that really just consists of being available in the house. The children are able to entertain themselves.
